Tyler Perry Commits to Building Home for 93-Year-Old woman Defending Family Land

The well-known media entrepreneur Tyler Perry has promised to build Josephine Wright, a defiant 93-year-old woman from South Carolina, a new home. She adamantly refuses to turn over the land owned by her family to developers.

Wright and the Bailey Point Investment Group, a Georgia-based company planning to erect a 147-unit neighborhood behind her Hilton Head Island property, have been at odds for a long time. She claims that in order to pressure her into selling, the corporation uses harassment and a frivolous lawsuit.

Wright is adamant about her choice since her 1.8-acre property, which has roots in the post-Civil War era, bears great personal value. Wright rejected a Bailey Point bid when the town granted permission for the development of the nearby 29 acres, which resulted in claims of harassment and subsequent legal action.

According to a report from the Associated Press in August, the complaint says that her screened-in porch, a shed, and a satellite dish intruded upon the property.

Tyler Perry and other well-known people have supported Wright. Perry, who became aware of her situation in June, has once more shown his support by pledging to build the tenacious homeowner a five-bedroom home. This is a significant show of support for Wright’s cause from the renowned director.

Wright’s family confirmed their continued conversations with Perry about building a new home on her property in a recent interview with Nexstar’s WSAV. In due course, her current home, where she lives with her grandchildren, will be replaced by this new one.

When Perry learned that Wright was involved in a legal dispute with the Bailey Point Investment Group back in June, she previously sided with her. He posted a WSAV story on Instagram to show his support for her fight. I

n the event that the permits are approved, construction is anticipated to start soon. At this moment, the ongoing lawsuit and property dispute are unaffected by this development.
