Johnny Depp is said to be planning to expand his business interests in the United Kingdom after recently moving into a historic 19th-century mansion in Somerset. According to reports, the 59-year-old Pirates of the Caribbean actor has expressed interest in purchasing a Grade II-listed pub in Smarden, Kent, owned by Melissa Spalding, the fiancée of The Great British Bake Off judge Paul Hollywood.

The Chequers Inn, priced at £1 million, is reportedly located near Depp’s Downton Abbey-style estate, which he acquired for $16.2 million. Sources have revealed that Depp is a big fan of the inn and has received support from his close friend, illustrator Ralph Steadman, who is also a regular at the pub.
Johnny Depp’s next film appearance will be in the highly anticipated movie “Jeanne du Barry,” a French biographical film. In this film, Depp will portray King Louis XV, sharing the screen with acclaimed actress and director Maïwenn, who has recently faced accusations of assaulting a journalist by spitting in his face, adding further intrigue to the film’s storyline.
