A father and his 6-year-old daughter dies of hypothermia after getting lost on a road trip.
The cause of death for a father and daughter discovered dead earlier this week was hypothermia, according to South Carolina authorities. The autopsy results for Michelle Murph, 6, and her father, Jason Murph, 42, were deemed inconclusive by the Calhoun County coroner; nevertheless, the decision was based on meteorological factors.
Foul play is not suspected, and no suspicious injuries were discovered. The two, who were last seen missing on December 16, have sadly passed away from the severe weather.
The father and daughter were discovered dead close to their burned-out and crashed truck last Monday by the Richland County Sheriff’s Department. Their bodies were found roughly fifty yards distant by police K-9s after the vehicle was found destroyed in a field.

Quentin Murph, Jason’s cousin, said he wasn’t sure how they got there as they weren’t supposed to be traveling from Blythewood to Orangeburg to see Jason’s mother. Regretfully, they never made it to where they were going. Quentin Murph expressed love, expressed regret for not being there for them in their hour of need, and promised that they would always remain in our hearts.
