Grammy Award-winning singer Samara Joy is set to dazzle high school students and eighth graders at the University of Alabama at Birmingham’s (UAB) Jazz Summit Fall Edition on October 17.
The world-class vocalist, known for her captivating stage presence and soulful voice, will lead a clinic and perform with her band at the prestigious event.
The UAB Jazz Summit, now in its fall edition, offers students of all skill levels the opportunity to immerse themselves in a collegiate jazz experience, learning from UAB jazz professors and professional jazz musicians.
This year’s summit boasts an impressive lineup, featuring masterclasses, clinics, and jam sessions led by UAB jazz faculty and industry experts. Students will also receive instruction and a performance from Samara Joy and her band.
The summit’s schedule is packed with exciting events, including a performance and clinic with UAB Jazz Faculty, masterclasses on individual instruments, and a jam session divided into beginner and advanced groups.
Samara Joy’s clinic and concert are undoubtedly the highlights of the event, offering students a unique chance to learn from and be inspired by one of the jazz world’s brightest stars.
Registration for the UAB Jazz Summit is now open, with a non-refundable participation fee of $40. All participating students will receive a UAB Jazz T-shirt, access to concerts, workshops, clinics, and masterclasses, as well as lunch and dinner on the day of the summit.
