“Keke Palmer is a globally recognized multihyphenate talent who embodies confidence and positivity and is one of the most engaging and lovable personalities working in entertainment today. We can’t wait to have her host the Soul Train Awards house party,” Connie Orlando, EVP Specials, Music Programming & Music Strategy said in a press release.
She added: “BET gave Keke her first talk show, where she made history as the youngest talk show host in television, and today we are honored to have her back on the Soul Train Awards stage. On Sunday, November 26 at 8 p.m. ET on BET, the Soul Train Awards show from Los Angeles will premiere. Special performances by BJ the Chicago Kid, Coco Jones, Danté Bowe, Fridayy, Muni Long, SWV, and host Keke Palmer will be included. Summer Walker, SZA, and Usher lead the list of nominees with nine nominations apiece.
This comes after Keke Palmer filed a domestic violence restraining order against her ex-husband Darius Jackson, which won’t allow Jackson to visit their 8-month-old son and gave Palmer temporary sole custody of him.
