Keke Palmer, who is fighting for custody with her ex-Darius Jackson, is taking a deeper look at her friends, implying on Instagram that someone in her tight circle may not be truly supportive of her happiness.

“Sometimes people don’t want to be your friend, they just don’t want to be your enemy,” she wrote alongside a sultry selfie in a white robe and wearing a red lip.

“They can’t be cool with you but they don’t want you to know, even though you already do.”

Palmer mentioned that certain frenemies intentionally stay close to use you when convenient, without showing any loyalty. She emphasized the importance of honesty, stating that nobody trusts a coward. Palmer didn’t reveal specific details, but her cryptic quote follows her difficult split from Jackson.

Palmer said that there are those that become close to you just to use you when the moment is right. When Palmer filed for custody of her 11-month-old son Leodis in November 2023, she accused her ex-boyfriend of abusing her both physically and mentally.

The actress allegedly showed police home security tape that showed Jackson’s violent behavior during their relationship. He lunged at her, grabbed her face and neck, threw her over a couch, snatched her phone, and ran out of the house on November 5, 2023, according to what she said happened.

Palmer described another incident in February 2022 where she claimed, “In the bedroom, he slammed me on the floor and slapped my head from side to side. The next morning, he was standing at the bottom of the stairs near the front door, screaming at me as I was coming down the stairs.” Following this, Palmer received a temporary restraining order against Jackson, recently extended for an additional six months as they continue sorting out custody matters.

She was granted temporary sole physical and legal custody of their infant, with no visitation rights for Jackson. Both exes have accused each other of different forms of abuse.

In December 2023, Jackson filed for his own restraining order against Palmer, alleging she had been verbally and physically abusive to him for years, citing an incident in August 2021 where she got agitated and punched him in the face at a birthday party.
