Together with fellow Murder Inc. Records singer Ashanti, Ja Rule had a string of successful songs that helped the label climb the Billboard charts. Ashanti began a romantic involvement with Nelly in 2003, in addition to recording music with Ja Rule in the early 2000s. Even though they had split up in the beginning, two decades later they got back together.

This week, Ja Rule made an appearance on The Tamron Hall Show and shared his opinions on Ashanti and Nelly getting back together after a ten-year break.

“You can tell sometimes when women – they want that old thing back. I don’t want to blow sis up. But the chemistry was there,” Ja Rule told Tamron Hall.

“And I think for both of them it came back quick. So I think they missed each other. It had to be that way because of the way they just clicked and came back so fast.”

The song “Always On Time” by Ja Rule and Ashanti peaked at number one on the 2002 Billboard Hot 100 list. Other songs like “Mesmerize,” “Down 4 U,” and “Wonderful,” all of which achieved Top 10 rankings, demonstrated their continuous collaboration.

Nelly, who is well-known for his album “Country Grammar,” has also had success as an artist, with four No. 1 hits on the Hot 100. One of them, “Dilemma,” with Kelly Rowland, peaked at number one for four weeks, highlighting Nelly’s successes on the Billboard charts. Ja Rule and Nelly have both had tremendous success in the music charts thanks to their joint ventures and solo endeavors.
