Will Smith allegedly earned $1 million for attending the annual Red Sea International Film Festival in Saudi Arabia. Smith was staying at the opulent Assila Hotel in Jeddah, according to Variety.
Other Hollywood celebrities who attended the festival included Gwyneth Paltrow, Chris Hemsworth, Johnny Depp, Halle Berry, and Michelle Williams, with reports claiming that Paltrow received a higher appearance fee than Smith.
Will Smith spoke with the Red Sea International Film Festival about a variety of topics, including the highly anticipated sequel to 2007’s “I Am Legend,” in which he will co-star with Michael B. Jordan. Smith mentioned being on the phone with Jordan and revealing that the script had just arrived. Regarding the plot of the sequel, he teased that it would follow the mythology of the DVD version, in which his character survives, but he couldn’t reveal any more details.
