The NFL revealed on Sunday that Usher will be the star of the Super Bowl LVIII halftime show in February. The league has selected the eight-time Grammy winner to be the headlining act at one of the most anticipated events of the year.

Usher himself broke the good news via a video on his Instagram page that featured Coach Prime, Deion Sanders, the current football coach at Colorado University and a former NFL standout. Coach Prime excitedly informed Usher of the halftime show news in the video, sparking a moment of mutual anticipation.

“It’s an honor of a lifetime to finally check a Super Bowl performance off my bucket list. I can’t wait to bring the world a show unlike anything else they’ve seen from me before,” Usher said in an NFL release announcing the selection. “Thank you to the fans and everyone who made this opportunity happen. I’ll see you real soon.”

Usher is prepared to bring his own brand of R&B magic to the Super Bowl stage, following in the footsteps of Rihanna, who gave a breathtaking performance in February that also happened to coincide with the news of her pregnancy.

Usher previously graced the Super Bowl in 2011 as a special guest of the headlining act, the Black-Eyed Peas. This will not be Usher’s first Super Bowl performance. Usher captivated the audience with a stunning leap over the audience during that outstanding performance. Culminating in a mind-blowing splits landing by i.am.

Super Bowl LVIII is scheduled to take place in Allegiant Stadium in the exciting city of Las Vegas on February 11, 2024. Both the game and the highly anticipated halftime show will be carried on CBS. Notably, Apple Music has stepped in to serve as the event’s proud sponsor.
