Tyrese Calls Samantha Lee ‘Heartless’ After She Reflects On Decision To Divorce & Speaks On Them Possibly Reconciling
Tyrese is speaking with Samantha Lee, his former partner, over her recent remarks regarding the reasons behind her divorce. In September 2020, three years after their marriage, Lee filed for divorce.
Lee appeared on the “Hardly Initiated” live podcast on Monday, October 16. Her knowledge of Tyrese’s and her own best interests in divorce was questioned by the hosts.
Lee said that women sometimes file for divorce because they feel hurt, angry, or unforgiving, which can lead to bitterness and create a barrier between partners. She confessed that she may have thought about divorce without taking it very seriously.
“I would never tell a woman to walk through that in the same frame of mind I was in when I did it,” Lee explained. “I was very hurt, I was very angry, and I remember when I made the decision, I was like, hysterically crying… on the phone with my attorney — that was not the person I should have been on the phone with.”
The mother of one said she was too emotionally upset to make the decision and wasn’t in the right frame of mind. She mentioned that she was talking to her lawyer and friends who didn’t advise her to work on her marriage, which wasn’t the right support. She confessed that if she had different advice at the time, she wouldn’t have chosen to divorce Tyrese.
Throughout the talk, Lee acknowledged that she occasionally had second thoughts about her decision to file for divorce. But at the time, she didn’t realize how hard it could get and thought it was the proper thing to do.

“I know, a lot of women, we make that decision, and we’re so hurt and angry,” Lee explained. “And then five or six months later, you’re not that angry anymore.
In another part of the talk, Lee talked about the chance of getting back together with Tyrese
“It’s loaded because of the fact there’s been so much that’s happened,” Lee began. “…I would say that if we were both going to show up and we were both going to fight for it equally and sacrifice, equally… then yes.”
Tyrese discussed what Lee said on Instagram Live on Monday. He disagreed with Lee’s assertion that she didn’t receive the appropriate counsel during the divorce and implied that her main goal is gaining publicity online.
Despite the fact that they both came from dysfunctional households, he said Lee carried on for their daughter, Soraya Somer Gibson. Tyrese also seemed to imply that Lee disregarded his early attempts to keep their marriage intact.
“You’re heartless. None of your friends recognize you. This is all about money,” Tyrese said.
