Shania Twain, a recipient of five Grammy awards, is extending her positive thoughts to her fellow Canadian, Celine Dion.
Celine Dion has been facing the challenges of Stiff-Person Syndrome, a rare neurological disorder that also affects her voice.
“I’m such a fan of Celine’s voice,” She’s a one-of-a-kind, extraordinary vocalist and entertainer.”
I hope to be able to connect with her at some point. I think it’s gotta be so difficult, and I know — only speaking from my experience — how horrifying it is to think that something is preventing you from singing, or interfering with that joy in your life.
So I just pray that she is able to overcome it and she will be up there [on stage] singing for us all again.” Twain said
Dion, who is incredibly gifted, was open and honest with her fans about her ongoing battle with Stiff-Person Syndrome in December 2022. This ailment has caused painful and uncontrollable muscle spasms, which have significantly hampered Dion’s ability to sing.

Eight of her scheduled summer 2023 shows had to be cancelled, while all of her spring 2023 concerts had to be moved to 2024. The remainder of Dion’s 2023 and 2024 European tour dates for her “European Courage Tour” had to be canceled, which was a difficult choice.
Twain has also been open about her own struggle with health
Shania Twain has also been open about her own struggle with health concerns impacting her voice that resulted from her 2003 Lyme disease diagnosis and subsequent rehabilitation process.
The vocal chord disorder dysphonia that resulted from this illness required many procedures for the “Giddy Up!” singer to treat it.
Twain has overcome her obstacles and is currently starting a global tour in support of her most recent album, “Queen of Me,” which launched in February at an incredible No. 2 on Billboard’s top country albums chart and No. 10 on the Billboard 200.
Before she heads back to the States in October, she will perform her Queen of Me tour in cities like Glasgow, London, and Dublin.
Twain also related a fascinating incident regarding the 1998 smash song “From This Moment On,” which has become a tour staple.
She had first imagined Dion contributing her wonderful voice to the love-infused ballad, but in the end she recorded the song as both a duet with fellow country musician Bryan White and a solo version.
“I wrote that with her in mind, and I really wanted her — my wish was that I would write it and she would record it. It would have been such an honor,” Twain says. “But my husband and producer at the time [Robert “Mutt” Lange] was like, ‘No, this really needs to be on your record.’ And I’m so grateful that I did record it.”
