Brown’s reputation in the industry is not without flaws, even if Gomez has refrained from criticizing the singer, songwriter, and rapper in front of the public. In connection with an incident involving his then-girlfriend Rihanna, Brown entered a guilty plea to felony domestic abuse charges in 2009.
As a result, Brown received a term of community service, five years of probation, and a requirement to undergo domestic violence treatment.
Selena Gomez and Rema’s collaboration, “Calm Down,” received nominations in three categories: Song Of The Year, Best Collaboration, and Best Afrobeats. They secured victory in the Best Afrobeats category, clinching the prestigious award.
