Monica Reveals C-Murder Broke Her Heart
As she discusses her split from C-Murder, Monica admits that she learned a “valuable lesson” but also expresses sadness about the split. With C-Murder serving a life sentence for the 2002 murder of 16-year-old Steve Thomas in a New Orleans nightclub, the R&B singer discusses the breakup of her relationship with him.
In response to a fan’s inquiry regarding her recent romance, Monica says she hadn’t spoken of C-Murder in two years. She admits that she experienced heartbreak once more, but she learned a valuable lesson from it.
“Well , here it is in short!” I got my heartbroken (again) and that’s ok! I learned yet another valuable lesson!”
Monica, on the other hand, has moved on and encourages her fans to do the same. She explains that she went through a difficult period, overcame it, and can now laugh about it. Monica expresses her delight that C-Murder now has representation for a possible future release.

She has long advocated for Corey “C-Murder” Miller’s release and sought Kim Kardashian’s help in bringing attention to his case in 2020. According to Kardashian, true justice for the victim requires holding the actual killer accountable and reuniting Corey Miller with his children.
After speaking with Kardashian, C-Murder publicly thanked Monica and revealed that he had slept for the first time in 19 years.
