Savanah Nicole Soto, 18, and her boyfriend, Matthew Guerra, 22, were discovered dead inside a vehicle on the northwest side of San Antonio’s Colinas Medical Apartments. Soto, who was nine months pregnant at the time, went missing on December 23 and was last seen at her Leon Valley condominium.

Authorities believed she was in ‘imminent danger’ or had gone missing involuntarily. Unfortunately, she did not appear at the hospital on Saturday at 6:30 p.m. for her scheduled induction.

Chief of Police William McManus of San Antonio said that the department will look into Savanah Nicole Soto’s death in conjunction with the Leon Valley Police agency. Detectives are thinking that the crime scene may have been a murder, according to McManus, who called it “very complex and perplexing.”

The police chief withheld details about who found the car and refuted reports on the child’s condition. On Facebook, Mariana Delgado—who purported to be the teen’s sister-in-law—posted that Soto’s body was discovered in “poor condition.” Later, Delgado asked for the bereaved family’s privacy. Gloria Cordova, Soto’s mother, had previously begged for her daughter’s return and emphasized Soto’s joy at becoming a mother.

Savanah Nicole Soto was described by the Leon Valley Police Department as a Caucasian female who weighs 115 pounds, is 5 feet 1 inch tall, and has brown hair and brown eyes. Gloria Cordova, the mother of Soto, last spoke with her daughter on December 22.

On Saturday, she attempted to contact her at her residence outside of San Antonio, but got no answer. Concerned for her daughter’s security, Cordova had posted on social media to ask for assistance, branding her partner as “bad.”

A Facebook group was created in response to the strange disappearance, drawing almost 17,000 members who were looking for information. On TikTok, the hashtag #savannahsoto received almost seven million views.

Guerra, Savanah Nicole Soto’s partner, was accused of abuse by social media users, who brought up bruises and other marks seen in Soto’s TikTok videos. An accused neighbor said that he observed Guerra “arguing and beating her almost every day” the previous year, and that he saw her kick her downstairs while she was unconscious and needed sutures.

Reportedly on probation, Guerra was the subject of the unidentified witness’s testimony. But Guerra’s mother refuted the claims, saying her son is not violent and implying they were seized against their will in order to obtain money.
