The 60-year-old former athlete’s net worth has increased to a staggering $3 billion, according to Forbes, placing him among the 400 richest people in America. Notably, Jordan is the first athlete to earn a place on this esteemed list, which also includes legends like Mark Zuckerberg and LA Clippers owner Steve Ballmer.
According to Forbes, Jordan made about $94 million from his great NBA career, with a staggering $2.4 billion coming from lucrative endorsement deals with well-known companies like McDonald’s, Nike, Hanes, and Gatorade.
Jordan’s recent financial success was greatly influenced by the completion of the Charlotte Hornets transaction, which was formally finalized in August for an astounding $3 billion.

In this deal, Jordan sold his ownership interest in the NBA franchise based in North Carolina to a group of investors headed by Rick Schnall and Gabe Plotkin. As a result, Jordan changed into a small ownership position inside the team; the NBA made public announcement of this move at the time of the transaction.
Michael Jordan’s rise to a $3 billion net worth solidifies his place among the wealthiest people in America. Along with some of the most powerful people in the country, his successful business enterprises and renowned basketball career have catapulted him to the top echelons of fortune. Jordan left behind a lasting impact that goes far beyond the basketball court.
Prior to his record-breaking gift to Make-A-Wish America, Jordan gained notoriety with a $10 million gift intended for the establishment of two new medical facilities in his home state of North Carolina. Novant Health was the receiver of these monies, and in 2017 Jordan had made a large $7 million donation to this organization.
