On Friday, November 3, Matthew Perry was buried in Los Angeles, California’s Forest Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery. The Warner Bros. Studios, where the hit television program “Friends” was filmed for ten years, is across the street from the cemetery.

Close friends and family of Perry, including co-stars Jennifer Aniston, Matt LeBlanc, David Schwimmer, Lisa Kudrow, and Courtney Cox, attended the private funeral. Perry’s stepfather enlisted in the military as well.

The late actor, best known for “17 Again,” was buried next to other well-known Hollywood personalities, including Carrie Fisher from Star Wars and Paul Walker from Fast & Furious.

Notable people like Walt Disney, Stan Laurel of Laurel & Hardy, Debbie Reynolds, Fisher’s mother, Bette Davis (once among the highest paid women in the US), Willie Garson (from Sex and the City), Lee Van Cleef (from The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly), and Anne Heche (from Psycho) are also buried at the renowned Hollywood cemetery.

Forest Lawn Memorial Park is primarily the last resting place for departed performers, musicians, and other celebrities, though fame is not the only requirement for burial there. According to a 2019 Fox report, burial at this famous site costs about $6,800.

Towards the end of Perry’s funeral, Kate Bush and Peter Gabriel’s 1986 song “Don’t Give Up” played, causing Perry’s loved ones to cry. An insider told DailyMail that they were profoundly moved by the song’s emotional lyrics.

Not a single dry eye was present, according to the source. Both laughter and tears were abundant. Only family members and close friends conversed.” The song’s moving lyrics read, “Don’t give up because you have friends; don’t give up because you’re not alone; don’t give up because there’s no cause for shame; don’t give up because you still have us.”
