T.I. and Tiny Harris initially celebrated a major victory after a jury ordered M.I. Holdings, the parent company of MGA Entertainment, to pay $71.4 million in damages. The jury found that MGA’s LOL Surprise! O.M.G. fashion dolls infringed on the trade dress of the O.M.G. Girlz, a teen girl group that was formed by T.I. and featured his and Tiny’s daughter, Zonnique Pullins, as a member.
However, a federal judge has since reduced the damages award to $17.8 million. The judge cited insufficient evidence of willful infringement on MGA’s part, which reduced the award for damages.
