Johnny Depp Will Play Satan Opposite Jeff Bridges as God in a New Biblical Comedy

Monty Python creator Terry Gillam is working on a new biblical comedy that boasts the stellar cast of Jeff Bridges portraying God and Johnny Depp embodying Satan.

In a recent interview with Premiere, Gillam shared intriguing details about his upcoming film, titled “The Carnival at the End of Days.” The storyline takes an unconventional twist -“God decides to destroy humanity. And the only one trying to save us is Satan because he needs souls in hell, otherwise he won’t have a job for eternity.”

Amongst the talented ensemble, Adam Driver and Jason Momoa have also joined the project, their roles remaining under wraps for now.

The visionary director emphasized that “The Carnival at the End of Days” will mostly likely “be very funny for those who like to be offended. Notably, Gillam expressed his intention to take artistic liberties in portraying God on the grand screen. Rather than the conventional depiction, God will be portrayed as nature – a nature that can communicate. Gillam envisions employing animation techniques to breathe life into this extraordinary vision, given the pivotal scene featuring God with no less than 15 animals. Such a spectacle presents a complex and costly endeavor, demanding utmost realism.

Filming is currently scheduled to begin in January 2025.
