Johnny Depp finally reveals his ‘weirdest’ film shoot experience ever
Celebrity actor Johnny Depp has opened out about his most bizarre filming experience. He made reference to “Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street,” a 2007 movie, saying that the most peculiar scene was an emotional flashback sequence.
“I think that was the weirdest thing I ever had to shoot,” Depp said.
“Burton literally was sobbing, he left the set of his own movie.”
Tim Burton, who was the director of the 2007 release, was also deeply affected by the shoot.
“That’s when I knew [Depp] was a great actor because that was terrible,” Burton explained.
“That was so bad.”
In addition to the touching sequence, Depp thought it unusual to wash co-star Alan Rickman’s face in “Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street.” Tim Burton and John Logan wrote and directed this musical film in 2007.
It is based on a stage musical by Stephen Sondheim and Hugh Wheeler, which was based on a play by Christopher Bond from 1970. Being one of the best musicals, it was a huge success, grossing nearly $153 million against a $50 million budget.
Born in Kentucky and raised in Florida, Johnny Depp dropped out of school at the age of fifteen. He worked as a pen salesman and performed in bands before his life took a dramatic turn and he decided to pursue acting in Los Angeles.

After making his TV series debut in “A Nightmare on Elm Street” in 1984, Depp became well-known for selecting unconventional and critically acclaimed roles. Depp frequently collaborated with director Tim Burton, starring in films such as “Edward Scissorhands” (1990), “Ed Wood” (1994), and “Pirates of the Caribbean:
The Curse of the Black Pearl” (2003). Despite his ups and downs and scandals, Depp was nominated for three Oscars and won other accolades.
