This news came as a surprise to no one as her beauty brand Kylie Cosmetics was soaring high at the time. But now a Reddit user has pointed out a theory that might match what Forbes detailed before dropping Jenner in 2020 from their billionaire list.
Is Kylie Jenner’s Billionaire Status a Sham?
In the Kardashian universe, not a single day goes by when one of them is not in the news or the headlines. On the same subject, Kim Kardashian is currently going through a nightmare given Kanye West’s latest antics and statements. The rapper known for his thumping beats and songs is also not a rookie when it comes to controversies.
However, this time, Kylie Jenner has found herself under the hawk eyes of the media that too for her billionaire status. In 2019, Forbes announced that the then-21-year-old Jenner was the youngest self-made billionaire ever. But just a couple of months later, they dropped her from their list citing several lies that Jenner had weaved in order to get the coveted title.
Interestingly, Jenner managed to bag the title when she sold about 51% of her company Kylie Cosmetics to beauty company Coty. This deal was valued at a staggering $1.2 billion putting Jenner on the top of Forbes list. However, when Coty’s filings became public, it showcased that her business was significantly smaller, and less profitable than she had claimed.
On the same subject, a Reddit user also brought up his own theory on her billionaire status.
This theory was based on the fact that Kylie Jenner has made some risky financial choices in recent years. For instance, according to Yahoo, sales of Kylie Cosmetics have gone down from $68.7 million in 2017 to $36.2 million in 2022. The estimated decline for the year 2024 is placed at $29 million.
Not only this, but she’s also known to launch several brands simultaneously, while some work for her and others do not. The most recent of these is her clothing brand Khy which was also accused of ripping off other designers and their ideas.
Current Relationship Status of Kylie Jenner and Timothée Chalamet
Apart from her beauty empire, Kylie Jenner’s love life has also garnered its fair share of limelight. From Tyga to her six years on-off relationship with Travis Scott, Jenner has dated some of the industry’s most popular men. After saying her final goodbye to Scott in 2023, Jenner was spotted with Timothée Chalamet on various occasions.
After their famous Beyoncé concert appearance, the duo was snapped together at New York Fashion Week and then later at the 2023 US Open. Recently just a month ago, Jenner and the Dune actor were spotted having a romantic dinner in NYC. Some sources via People also noted that “He’s close with her family and she’s close with his family.”
In the midst of this, Chalamet had also joined Jenner for her 27th birthday trip to the Bahamas. However, both Kylie Jenner and Timothée Chalamet have not publicly confirmed their romance.
