David Njoku Shares First Pictures of Burned Face After Fire Pit Accident
David Njoku is no longer hiding his face after suffering burns in a domestic tragedy.
On Wednesday, the Cleveland Browns’ 27-year-old tight end released a series of photographs on Instagram, including two that exposed the depth of his injuries from the fire.
This is Njoku’s first public appearance in the 12 days following the tragedy. He had been hiding it previously, such as on October 1st, when he attended Cleveland Browns Stadium wearing a beige, alien-inspired costume that covered everything except his eyes.
Although there was no caption accompanying his social media post, the two photographs he provided appeared to depict his rehabilitation process.

The first selfie showed Njoku seated in a car, his manner serene, the hood of his camouflage sweatshirt drawn up over his head. Despite the fact that his eyes were protected by dark sunglasses, the photo revealed visible skin damage on his forehead, cheeks, nose, lips, and chin. Similar injuries could be seen in the reflection of his spectacles on his right hand, while his left hand was bandaged.
The second shot showed Njoku beaming with a big smile for the camera. His inflamed skin and lips looked noticeably calmer. In addition, his face appeared to glisten, possibly from perspiration.
Njoku’s tragedy occurred on September 29 while he was lighting a fire pit in his backyard, according to ESPN.
The next day, the Browns announced that their tight end had been added to the team’s injury list in preparation for the Ravens game on October 1.
