Beyoncé’s Father Slams Country Music Awards for Snubbing Daughter’s Album, Calls it a ‘White and Black’ Issue

Mathew Knowles is furious with the Country Music Association (CMA) Awards for ignoring Beyonce‘s album, ‘Cowboy Carter’.

Knowles told TMZ: “There’s more white people in America and unfortunately they don’t vote based on ability and achievements, it’s still sometimes a white and black thing.”

He added: “In America, there’s no accountability for people not being accepting of other cultures.”

Knowles is angry that ‘Cowboy Carter’ was left out of the CMA Awards nominations, despite being a huge success. The album was a hit, topping the charts for weeks.

Beyonce’s song, ‘Texas Hold ‘Em’, was a groundbreaking hit, making her the first Black woman to reach No. 1 on the country music charts.

Knowles also slammed the CMA Awards for how they treated Beyonce after her 2016 performance with The Chicks. He said: “Beyonce didn’t have a good experience performing with The Chicks. And the CMAs never apologized to her.”

Despite the snub, Beyonce has received support from country music legends like Dolly Parton and Willie Nelson, who featured on ‘Cowboy Carter’.

First-time CMA nominee Shaboozey also tweeted: “Thank you @Beyonce for opening a door for us, starting a conversation, and giving us one of the most innovative country albums of all time!”
