A mother of eight, Maria Ramos, was fatally shot in Oakland on August 7 after confronting alleged drug dealers who were selling cannabis vape pens to her kids, according to KTVU FOX 2.
Surveillance footage obtained by KTVU shows Ramos approaching the dealers’ car and pepper-spraying them. Two dealers got out, and one fired a gunshot at Ramos before getting back into the car. The other dealer opened fire as Ramos ran away, hitting her with at least one bullet.

Ramos’ relative, who was in the SUV, drove away to escape the chaos but returned to find Ramos dead on the ground.
According to KTVU, Ramos had confronted the dealers to tell them to stop coming to her house to sell vape pens to her kids. She had seven daughters and one son.
Police arrested two suspects, including the shooter, in connection with Ramos’ death.
