Jonathan Majors Trial : Judge Enforces Seal On Potentially ‘Inflammatory’ Evidence

Judge Michael Gaffey made the decision to seal some evidence during the second day of Jonathan Majors’ domestic abuse trial because he thought it would be “prejudicial and inflammatory” for the ongoing case. Jonathan Majors attended the trial with his attorneys and girlfriend, Meagan Good.

Grace Jabbari, the accuser in the case and a planned prosecution witness, is the ex-girlfriend of Jonathan Majors. The District Attorney stated that Jabbari’s allegations of being the aggressor will not result in prosecution.

The jury selection process has begun and should conclude shortly. Judge Gaffey was scheduled to rule on sealed evidence the following day, but there was a contentious debate on the topic on the first day of the trial.

Judge Gaffey made important decisions regarding the evidence on the second day of Jonathan Majors’ domestic abuse trial. Among other things, she permitted the jury to hear that Majors’ accuser, his ex-girlfriend Jabbari, was also detained in relation to the physical assault incident.

Judge Gaffey declared evidence that had already been sealed to be “prejudicial and inflammatory” to the case, and as such, upheld the seal.

This decision was sealed, according to the office of Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg. Rumor has it that the evidence relates to previous incidents involving Majors in the United States and the United Kingdom.

Priya Chaudhry, the attorney representing Majors, remained silent following Gaffey’s decision. With the help of the Molineux rule, which permits the use of previously uncharged allegations in a subsequent trial, the DA’s office attempted to introduce the evidence.

Throughout the two trial days, Jonathan Majors maintained his composure and sat quietly while Judge Gaffey rendered decisions. With a bible on the defense table, the “Antman and the Wasp: Quantumania” actor sat facing the jurors and watched intently while taking notes.

Majors stood, bowed, and clasped hands to greet the jurors upon their introduction. Dressed in a dark suit, black coat, and fedora, he arrived at the trial with his girlfriend Meagan Good. They walked out of the courtroom together, carrying on their handshake from the day before.
