A single gay man has made history by becoming the first unmarried male in Victoria to embrace fatherhood through surrogacy, marking a historic milestone.

Shaun Resnik joyfully welcomed his son Eli Michael into the world on March 22 of the previous year after a grueling three and a half-year journey.

Every year, about 100 infants in the state are delivered via surrogate, and the parents must obtain permission from the federal government in order to comply with Victoria’s strict laws. Those who are single find this process to be noticeably more difficult.

Mr. Resnik has expressed the hope that his experience may help other single people who want to start families. It’s a love like I’ve never experienced before, he said in an interview with Seven News.

Before coming into contact with Ms. Pincombe, who graciously offered to carry his kid, Mr. Resnik endured years of mental pain and setbacks in his search for a surrogate.

Resnik said around the time: “This is huge! It’s time society got to see single gay men as dads.

“I have always wanted to be a dad, I just didn’t know how I was going to make it possible.”

Speaking about little Eli, Mr Resnik said: “He’s a good bubba. As long as there is a bottle in his mouth he’s calm, relaxed and chilled.

“But he has a scream that will pierce your soul! He’s keeping us up at night and if I wasn’t bald, I would have lost my hair already.”
