Rapper Quavo has made headway in his efforts to promote gun control reform by visiting Congress with US Vice President Kamala Harris and other notable lawmakers.

Quavo and Vice President Harris had a private discussion on Wednesday in Washington, D.C., at the 52nd Annual Legislative Conference. Edna Marshall, Quavo’s mother, and Titani Davenport, his older sister and the mother of Takeoff’s nephew, were in attendance at the event.

As a tribute to Takeoff’s ongoing legacy, the Vice President posted pictures from their meeting on social media, thanking everyone for their cooperation in preventing gun crime. Quavo spoke with Vice President Harris on his visit to Congress, and he also had discussions about gun control reform with Hakeem Jeffries, the Democratic leader in the House of Representatives, and Corey Booker, a senator from New Jersey.

Quavo’s determination to bring about real change in gun control laws has advanced significantly as a result of this.

The Atlanta rapper sat down with Good Morning America while visiting the nation’s capital to talk about his engagement in the fight against gun violence there. The interview, which aired on Thursday morning, highlighted Quavo’s commitment to promoting change in this important area.

“I know a lot of people out there that lost their loved ones to gun violence, and I think ain’t nothing getting done about it,”

Quavo continued by describing the severe effects of seeing his nephew and fellow group member Takeoff get tragically shot in 2022. This personal experience has motivated him to work tirelessly to protect other people’s lives through his advocacy.

“I’m a survivor, I was there. So at the same time, it could’ve been both of us gone. So I look at this as me being alive, I have to do this job and make sure everybody aware that losing my nephew, you could be in the same position.”
