Ed Sheeran’s show breaks attendance record

On Saturday night, June 10, Ed Sheeran took the stage at MetLife Stadium for his first Meadowlands performance in years. This marked his return to the stadium since 2018, showcasing his talent to a global audience.

In a groundbreaking achievement, Ed shattered the previous attendance record at MetLife Stadium, captivating an astounding crowd of over 80,000 enthusiastic fans.

Kicking off the show with his 2021 hit ‘Tides,’ Ed mesmerized the audience and seamlessly transitioned into ‘Blow.’ This rock-infused song was a collaborative effort between Ed Sheeran, Chris Stapleton, and Bruno Mars.

Excitement for the event reached new heights as a Twitter account named Pop Crave declared that the stadium was filled with a staggering 89,000 people, solidifying Ed’s record-breaking performance at MetLife Stadium. This milestone became his most monumental show in the United States to date, leaving an indelible mark on his career.

Ed Sheeran’s captivating performances were part of the North American segment of his widely anticipated “± ÷ x Tour,” commonly referred to as “The Mathematics Tour.”

In September 2021, Ed unveiled a 27-date European tour, followed by the announcement of the Oceania leg in 2022. Initially, three shows were added to the Oceania leg, taking place in Brisbane, Sydney, and Melbourne. Later on, three more shows were included in the tour’s itinerary, scheduled for Wellington, Auckland, and Brisbane.

Remarkably, Ed’s concert at MetLife Stadium went ahead despite the East Coast being shrouded in orange skies caused by the Canadian wildfires. Undeterred by the threat, MetLife Stadium bravely declared last week that Ed’s highly anticipated shows on June 10 and 11 would proceed as scheduled, allowing fans to enjoy his performances without interruption.
