Will Smith takes on new project following Jada Pinkett-Smith’s book release
Will Smith has begun a fresh project in the aftermath of his family’s recent difficulties. He’ll be featured in “Class of ’88,” an eight-part podcast series that examines the evolution of hip hop in the United States.
The podcast will present Smith’s perspective on Hip Hop, a subject about which he is well-versed, as well as a history and overview of the genre. It will showcase the musicians, albums, and sounds that inspired its appeal in the United States.
The main focus will be on the year 1988, when Public Enemy, DJ Jazzy Jeff, Queen Latifah, and Salt ‘N Pepa rose to popularity.
“Hip-hop has been a central part of my life for over four decades,” said Smith to Billboard. “I’m hyped to share my first-hand experiences and those of some of hip-hop’s greatest legends as we delve into the origins of one of the most influential genres of music in history.”

The marriage of Will Smith and Jada Pinkett-Smith has been the subject of a lot of discussion in recent weeks. It began when Pinkett-Smith published her book “Worthy,” in which she discusses her relationship with Smith and states that they haven’t lived together since 2016.
In a personal interview with People magazine, the 52-year-old actress provided this unexpected relationship update. She will also go into more detail about their trip in a future interview with NBC News, which will air later today.
Jada revealed in an interview with People that she and Will, 55, started living apart in 2016. Notably, they were already lived in separate locations in 2022 when the Oscars event took place.
Will objected to a joke about Jada’s haircut during this event, which led to an unplanned on-stage run-in with comedian Chris Rock.
Jada highlighted that final choices on the course of their union were still pending. She said that she and Will are still figuring out the best course of action.
‘We’ve been doing some really heavy-duty work together,’ she said. ‘We just got deep love for each other, and we are going to figure out what that looks like.’
