Will Smith Surprises Janet Hubert at Book Premiere After 27-Year Feud
Will Smith and Janet Hubert are still friends after making up in 2020. They were costars on Fresh Prince of Bel-Air. They hugged in a video on Instagram. Will Smith, who is 55 years old, supported Janet Hubert, who is 68 years old, at her book event. The book is called “JG and the BC Kids” and it’s about smart children.
Will Smith thanked his friend Janet Hubert for inviting him to help with her project, JG and the BC Kids. They shared a video where Smith expressed how much he enjoyed being there with 200 students from Embrace Girl Power. They hugged and caught up in the video. Hubert was grateful for Smith’s presence and complimented him, to which Smith made a playful joke in response.

““WOW!! Thank U to my dear friend @janethubertformyfanspage for inviting me to help you bring your amazing project JG and the BC Kids to the world!” Smith captioned the video, which was shared by the pair. “It was a blast and a pleasure to be able to show 200 students from @embracegirlpower a taste of your genius, Janet!! OK — who we showing the project to next?? #embracegirlpower #jgbckids,” he added.
In the clip, Smith and Hubert could be seen hugging and catching up with one another. “Oh my God! Thank you for coming, baby!” Hubert told Smith. “Oh man, this is beautiful. This is beautiful,” he replied. “You haven’t changed a bit,” Hubert then added, touching Smith’s cheek. “Oh, this ain’t nothing but the finest nuts and berries,” the actor joked in response while stroking his head and face.
The project founder later brought the Bad Boys star onstage in front of excited school students. Smith led the children in chants and mentioned Hubert. He also quoted a JG and BC Kids book and talked to the students about struggles they might face.
The video ended with Smith chanting with the students. Hubert and Smith reconciled in 2020 on an HBO Max special celebrating The Fresh Prince. They discussed their feud, which started during Hubert’s time on the show in 1993.
