Will Smith called Daughter Willow as a ‘7-Year-Old Dictator’ on Set of $585 Million Movie
Hollywood legend Will Smith has made an enduring impression on the business thanks to a succession of great blockbusters. Smith’s strong filmography includes iconic works like “I Am Legend,” which has him as the lone survivor in a post-apocalyptic world invaded by creatures that resemble zombies.
In an earlier interview, Smith acknowledged the significant impact his daughter Willow—then just seven years old—had on the movie.
The well-known ‘Men In Black’ actor revealed that Willow handled her job in ‘I Am Legend’ with a seriousness belying her youth, a dedication that even inspired some light-hearted banter.
“You kind of don’t work with Willow, you work for Willow.” He also considered whether Willow inherited the acting bug from him and his wife Jada, or if it was a natural part.
“It’s interesting, [Smith’s wife] Jada and I debate the age-old debate of nature versus nurture. Is it because two actors went to Mexico and drank some tequila and made a baby? Does that make the baby an actor? Or, did she grow up in a house where that is what is in her house, that is just the life, and that’s the experience that she knows?”

The now-22-year-old actress first expressed interest in joining the ranks of the silver screen when she was just six years old, according to Smith, who also said that she was inspired by her older brother Jaden’s performance with him in a 2006 movie at the age of eight.
“I think a big part of it is probably Jaden. After The Pursuit of Happyness and she saw what Jaden did, she thought, ‘I want that.”
The singer’s growing interest in acting, according to the actor, was sparked by her intense love for her older brother’s achievements. Willow’s father was deeply affected by her commitment to her profession even when she was a young girl.
He recalled instances when she would put him to the test on how he handled her early stardom. The young Smith family member faced issues as a result of this early exposure to the public.
