Will Smith and Martin Lawrence are nearly hit by a missile on set
Will Smith and Martin Lawrence narrowly escaped a missile strike while filming a scene in Atlanta for the next Bad Boys movie. The performers were part of a set from a Gatorland amusement park, dressed in law enforcement attire.
In order to convey the excitement of the action-packed scene, Lawrence’s character wore sunglasses and a bulletproof vest, while Smith’s character, Detective Mike Lowrey, brandished a replica assault-style rifle.
One of the primary protagonists in the Bad Boys film series, Detective Lieutenant Marcus Miles Burnett, is still played by Will Smith. Since the 1995 first film, Smith and Martin Lawrence have played these police officers; they returned for the 2003 and 2020 sequels.
Smith and Lawrence are set to return for the fourth Bad Boys film, which is now in development and is scheduled for release in 2020. In spite of the production halt brought on by Smith’s Oscars issue, the movie stars Vanessa Hudgens, Alexander Ludwig, and Paola Nunez among its other cast members.

It has been verified by Sony Chairman Tom Rothman that work on the Bad Boys 4 project is still ongoing. In February, Will Smith and Martin Lawrence made an official announcement about their reunion. The third installment in the franchise, which was well-received by viewers, was directed by Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah.
Filming for the upcoming film Bad Boys 4 began in Miami and Atlanta last month. In a recent dramatic sequence, Will Smith walked Martin Lawrence—dressed in a medical gown—off a rooftop ledge in the film, which is scheduled for release in 2024.
