They first connected in 2022, following Johnny Depp’s trial with Amber Heard, and more recently, when Jada Pinkett Smith revealed that she and Will had been living apart since 2016. Opening night at the Red Sea Film Festival was celebrated by Johnny and Will with a screening of Yasir Al-Yasiri’s fantasy epic, HWJN.

According to IMDB, the tale, which is based on a novel by Ibraheem Abbas, centers on an observant Jinn who discovers the truth about his royal ancestry while falling in love with a human girl.

Wearing a chic black suit, Johnny attended the Friday screening of his historical drama, Jeanne du Barry. He gave Maïwenn, who starred in the film but also wrote, produced, and directed it, praise at the festival. In a panel discussion, Depp—playing Louis XV—praised Maïwenn for her versatility in directing and acting, highlighting the distinct viewpoints needed for each part.
