R. Kelly, an R&B singer/songwriter, gained infamy after being convicted on all charges in his high-profile sex trafficking trial held in New York.
The jury found him guilty of various crimes, including sexual exploitation of a child, bribery, kidnapping, racketeering, and sex trafficking. These charges were connected to six victims. In addition to the New York trial, Kelly is awaiting two more trials, one in Illinois and another in Minnesota.
As a consequence of his conviction, R. Kelly’s royalties are now being garnished and allocated to his victims. This decision aims to provide some restitution to those who suffered due to his actions.
According to court documents obtained by RadarOnline.com, the government has submitted an application for a writ of continuing garnishment in R. Kelly’s criminal case.

Prosecutors have stated that Kelly has a debt of $504,289.90 plus interest, which is part of a judgment in his criminal case. They mentioned that he has already received a credit of $27,000.
In the filing, prosecutors noted that Kelly is currently incarcerated in North Carolina but has failed to fulfill the required payments.
The government has formally requested Sony Music Entertainment and Universal Music to surrender any funds owed to Kelly from his music sales.
The notice inquires of Sony whether they possess any property belonging to Kelly, including non-exempt, disposable earnings.
