Even though he lost over US$12 million of his life savings at Stocks and Securities Limited a year ago, Usain Bolt, the Olympic legend and dancehall music producer, says he’s doing okay.

Given Bolt’s incredible ascent from impoverished beginnings to celebrity and money, the news of the robbery startled many people in the nation. Scammers’ targeting of someone on the island who had such a notable success story infuriated many.

The Financial Services Commission, the Financial Investigations Unit of the Jamaica Constabulary Force, and several other organizations, including the FBI, are still investigating how millions were stolen from Usain Bolt and others.

A manager named Jean Ann Panton, whose name was on the documents for money removal, is now in jail awaiting trial. Public criticism has been intense due to system oversight failures, with the institution previously flagged by the FSC for breaching financial regulations years ago.

In a video on his Instagram, Bolt expressed frustration that a whole year has passed without any solution to the theft of his money.
