Stephanie Mills Says It’s Difficult Dating In Her 60s: “ Old Men Like Young Bones”

R&B icon Stephanie Mills, 67, recently opened up about the challenges of dating as an older woman, sparking a wave of support from fans and fellow women.

In an interview with The Breakfast Club, Mills shared her candid thoughts on men’s preferences. “OGs like young girls,” she said. “They don’t like girls like me, they don’t like older women… they think I’m too old.”

Mills also addressed colorism, stating, “Most men like high yellow women. They don’t like dark women.”

Her comments resonated with many women, who shared their own experiences on social media. “She’s not lying. Everything she said was on point,” one user commented. Another added, “The colorism is real.”

However, some male users responded with misogynistic and ageist remarks, such as, “Girls be 67 and wanna settle down after ho**** their whole life, of course most men like them 25-35.”

Mills remains unfazed, emphasizing her independence and refusal to tolerate games in relationships. “I’m not gonna play any games, and if they don’t wanna come right and be honest, I think they should be honest,” she stated.

The singer, known for hits like “Never Knew Love Like This Before” and “What You Gonna Do With My Loving?”, has found confidence and empowerment in her 60s. “I think in my sixties, I really was like, I didn’t care what anybody thought,” she said.

Mills joins a growing conversation about women embracing their freedom and self-love in their golden years. As one fan put it, “Aunties know what they want in and out of relationships and are no longer compromising around the non-negotiables.”
