On Thursday, police confirmed that Sinéad O’Connor, the Irish singer aged 56, was discovered ‘unresponsive’ and pronounced dead at a residence in London.

Her passing occurred on Wednesday, and since then, numerous tributes have poured in from all corners of the globe. Just a few weeks before her demise, Sinéad had relocated to London with the intention of crafting new ‘tunes,’ hinting at her creative pursuits.

According to an official statement released by the police on Thursday, they received a call on Wednesday morning regarding an address in South East London, where they found Sinéad in an ‘unresponsive’ state.

It read: ‘Police were called at 11:18hrs on Wednesday, 26 July to reports of an unresponsive woman at a residential address in the SE24 area. Officers attended. A 56-year-old woman was pronounced dead at the scene.

‘Next of kin have been notified. The death is not being treated as suspicious. A file will be prepared for the Coroner.’

In early July, Sinéad O’Connor relocated to London, moving into a delightful new apartment. She was excited about her musical endeavors and had plans to write songs, with a possibility of embarking on a tour again.

However, she had previously faced a challenging decision to cancel her live performances following the tragic loss of her 17-year-old son, Shane. Her management explained that the cancellation was necessary for her own well-being and health.

In the weeks leading up to her passing, Sinéad O’Connor shared a Twitter video showcasing the interior of her flat, where her black Martin Johnny Cash electro acoustic guitar adorned the wall. She expressed her intentions to compose fresh ‘tunes’ on that very guitar.

It was on Wednesday evening that Sinéad’s family confirmed her demise through a brief statement.
