Gymnastics superstar Simone Biles has wrapped up her Paris Olympics journey with a silver medal in the women’s artistic gymnastics individual floor routine.
Biles, 27, reflected on her remarkable career, saying, “I’ve accomplished way more than my wildest dreams, not just at this Olympics, but in this sport.”
With 11 Olympic medals and 30 world championship medals, Biles is now the most decorated gymnast of all time. She made history as the oldest gymnast to win the individual all-around gold.
Biles’ Paris Olympics medals include gold in the team event, gold in the individual all-around, gold on vault, and silver in the floor routine. Despite falling in the balance beam final, she remains proud of her performances.
When asked about returning for the next Summer Olympics in Los Angeles in four years, Biles hinted at uncertainty, pausing before saying: “This is my last Yurchenko double pike vault… I mean, I kind of nailed that one – so never say never. The home Games, the next Olympics, is at home, which makes it tempting; however, I am getting really old.”
Biles’ future in gymnastics is uncertain, but her legacy is cemented. For now, she can celebrate her incredible achievements and the admiration of fans worldwide.
