Chance Comanche, a 27-year-old Sacramento Kings player, is currently facing charges of kidnapping and murder in relation to the passing of Marayna Rodgers, 23. Rodgers, a Washington state medical assistant on vacation in Las Vegas, was supposed to meet up with Sakari Harnden, Comanche’s girlfriend, a 19-year-old friend. Even though Rodgers’ friends had been friends for a long time, tensions in their friendship started to surface.

Marayna Rodgers was last observed in Las Vegas’ southwest area. She vanished two hours after her friend dropped her off. It wasn’t until Chance Comanche’s arrest that Rodgers was located by the authorities after she was reported missing on December 7.

Comanche fled to Sacramento, while Sakari Harnden was apprehended in Las Vegas on December 13 due to his involvement in the crime. Two days later, the FBI had him in custody.

Comanche gave information right away, claiming that his girlfriend had threatened to hurt Rodgers and desired a Rolex watch, according to a FOX5 arrest report. Comanche and Harnden had a scheme to entice Rodgers into a car, offering her $1,000 in exchange for Comanche tying her hands in “kinky sex.” Then, using an HDMI cord and their hands, they choked her to death.

Comanche led detectives to the spot on a map where they had left Marayna Rodgers’s body—close to Vincenzo Lane in Henderson, a suburb of the Las Vegas desert. Her body was found covered in rocks in a ditch.

Tuesday is Comanche’s court appearance in Sacramento; however, he will be extradited to Vegas for his trial. Despite having graduated from Beverly Hills High School in 2015, he was released by the Sacramento Kings the day he was arrested, and he later played briefly for the Stockton Kings. There isn’t a lawyer listed for him in Sacramento records as of Monday.
