Police officers slashed with knife after car chase
Two police officers were hurt during an early Sunday morning police chase in Carole Park, Ipswich; one of them had a nasty arm slash. At the crossroads of Boundary Road and Antimony Street, the pursuit came to an end with the use of tire deflation devices, trailed by a police aircraft.
A Senior Constable was slashed by a passenger who had come out of the car with a knife as the police approached, seriously injuring him. Three people from the vehicle were taken into custody, and the injured officer received emergency medical attention from fellow officers.
Both cops were taken to the hospital for treatment after police said that one of them sliced his finger while making the arrest. An individual from Cherbourg, age 31, has been arrested and charged by detectives from the Ipswich Criminal Investigation Branch for allegedly performing acts meant to thwart a valid arrest.

The man is due to appear on Monday, February 12 before the Brisbane Magistrates Court. The driver of the car engaged in the incident, a 25-year-old Goodna resident, is also accused of fleeing the police, operating a motor vehicle dangerously, five charges of theft, and four counts of driving without a license.
