Petition To Stop Interviewing Will and Jada Smith Gets Over 23,000 Signatures
Are you someone who prefers not to know every detail about the lives of the rich and famous, or do you enjoy celebrity tell-all stories? Should you err on the side of caution, you may join the person who initiated an internet petition demanding an end to all interviews with Will Smith and his spouse, asking entertainment journalists to abstain from speaking with them.
Not everyone is a fan of Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith’s personal lives, and one person, in particular, is so frustrated that they’ve launched an online petition urging reporters to stop interviewing the couple. The Change.org petition has garnered 23,343 signatures.
An individual started the petition, maybe in response to Will Smith’s recently released memoir, “Will,” which explores his relationship with Jada. In addition to describing his “fantasy harem of girlfriends,” experiences with psychedelic drugs, complicated relationship with his late father, and jealousy over Jada’s friendship with Tupac, the memoir also functions as a confessional.
One disturbing discovery concerned his coping mechanism for dealing with the adultery of his first girlfriend, which involved excessive sexual activity that had a long-lasting psychological effect and made him uncomfortable during orgasms. Many people thought this level of detail was excessive.

The petition was started in response to Will Smith’s memoir, but people are sick of hearing about him in particular—they are sick of Jada divulging information about their relationship and private lives. Jada recently talked about how uncomfortable she was with Will’s sexual behavior in interviews.
Her candid talks about her personal relationship with rapper August Alsina and her addiction to ecstasy, cannabis, alcohol, and porn have been featured on her Facebook show, Red Table Talk. The pair no longer calls themselves “married,” opting instead to refer to themselves as “life partners.” They have openly discussed their open marriage.
Although some find it intriguing that the Smiths lead unusual lives and have unique relationships, others believe that Will and Jada have disclosed far too many personal details.
The petition is almost at 25,000 signatures, indicating that more people than anticipated are sick of hearing about the couple. The original goal was to gather 2,000 signatures in order to attract the attention of the local press.
