Michael Jackson replaced by Harry Styles as new ‘King of Pop’, Fans divided

Rolling Stone has named Harry Styles the ‘new King of Pop’ in place of the late Michael Jackson.

Jackson, who passed away in 2009, was recognized as one of the most iconic musicians of the 20th century, winning numerous awards throughout his career.

Styles, on the other hand, rose to fame with One Direction and has since become a successful solo artist with three studio albums.

Despite his Grammy wins, some, including Jackson’s family, disagree with the title. Taj Jackson, Michael’s nephew, criticized Rolling Stone for the declaration and suggested Styles be given a different title.

His post has gained significant traction on social media.

One person tweets: “The Michael Jackson estate needs to SUE! King of Pop is trademarked!”

“I agree Taj. There’s only one King of Pop and it’s Michael Jackson”.  another adds. “I like Harry Styles, but this stuff will make it hard to openly be a fan of his. I’m serious. I’m not playing into propaganda that wants to take titles from black icons. Harry is super talented, charismatic, & has great comedic timing (SNL) but STOP. There is ONE King of Pop.”

While a third person comments: “Well Said, Taj. It is disrespectful to Michael Jackson for anyone to call Harry Styles or Justin Bieber King of Pop@.

Another user comments: “People forever trying to strip him of titles he worked hard to earn”
