Lizzo Accepts Humanitarian Award Surrounded by Black Plus-Sized Women
Lizzo sent a strong message as she politely collected a Humanitarian Award by categorically supporting and elevating “Black fat women.” The singer was cordially flanked by a group of more than 20 plus-sized ladies during the ceremony, which was presented by the Black Music Action Coalition.
Lizzo has experienced legal issues, including claims of racist and sexual harassment throughout her tour, but she didn’t specifically mention them in her statement. But these urgent issues were clearly brought up in her speech.

Lizzo vowed to persist in, Amplifying the voices of marginalized individuals because I possess a microphone and the know-how to wield it. She affirmed her commitment to, Perpetually championing and forming secure havens for Black fat women, because that’s precisely how I operate.
On Thursday, a lady who claims she was recruited to manage the wardrobe for Lizzo’s 2023 tour filed a complaint against Lizzo.
The woman claims in the lawsuit that Lizzo’s plus-sized dancers had little access to backstage room for changing and were routinely made fun of by the primarily white male stage staff.
