Lady Gaga gets lawsuit over $500K dog reward thrown out

Lady Gaga has been relieved of the obligation to pay the $500,000 reward to the woman who acted as an accomplice in the theft of her beloved French bulldogs in 2021.

In February of that year, the renowned singer-songwriter, known for hits like “Rain On Me,” announced a generous reward following the abduction of her purebred pups, Koji and Gustav, which occurred when her dog walker was held at gunpoint.

After successfully recovering her beloved pets, Gaga faced a lawsuit from Jennifer McBride, who claimed she was entitled to the reward money. However, TMZ reports that the case has been dismissed prior to reaching trial.

The judge presiding over the matter ruled against allowing McBride to pursue her claims, stating that doing so would enable her to benefit from her admitted involvement in the wrongdoing.

In February, the renowned singer of the chart-topping track “Rain On Me” made a remarkable declaration of offering a substantial reward of $500k. Subsequently, following the retrieval of the dogs at the LAPD Olympic Community station on February 26, 2021, McBride faced legal charges associated with the theft, specifically for receiving stolen property and aiding and abetting the crime.

Ultimately, McBride opted to plead no contest to a single charge of receiving stolen property, resulting in a sentence of two years of probation. Currently, she has a period of 20 days to resubmit the case for further consideration.
