King Charles diagnosed with cancer
King Charles III has been diagnosed with cancer and has started treatment, as confirmed by royal officials on Monday (Feb 5).
His Majesty has begun regular treatments and has been advised by doctors to delay public-facing duties, but he will continue with State business and official paperwork. He appreciates his medical team’s prompt intervention and remains optimistic about his treatment, eager to resume full public duties soon.
His Majesty decided to disclose his diagnosis to prevent speculation and to help the public understand cancer better. This news coincides with Prince William’s return to royal duties this week following his wife’s recent abdominal surgery, as announced by Kensington Palace on Monday.
Since his wife, Catherine, Princess of Wales, was admitted to the hospital on January 16, William, 41, the eldest son of King Charles III, has postponed his public obligations to take care of their three children.

With Queen Camilla, then 76 years old, serving as the only notable public figure while King Charles III was away, their absence resulted in a staffing deficit inside the whittled-down monarchy. According to the palace, William will attend the annual fundraising gala for London Air Ambulance in central London later that evening after holding an investiture at Windsor Castle on Wednesday.
There are no particular details given for Kate’s hospitalization, but officials did clarify that it is expected that she would not be able to do anything until at least March 31.
