In a Friday episode of his new NBA-focused ESPN series, “NBA Unplugged with Kevin Hart,” he humorously alluded to comedian Katt Williams’ explosive appearance on the “Club Shay Shay” podcast, suggesting that Hart is taking the recent barrage of insults from Williams in a lighthearted manner.

Hart, while providing commentary on the New York Knicks vs. Philadelphia 76ers game with his co-hosts on Friday’s episode of “NBA Unplugged with Kevin Hart,” playfully mocked various claims made by Katt Williams on the “Club Shay Shay” podcast.

He humorously shared outrageous and untrue “fun” facts about Williams, such as claiming Williams bought the New York Knicks and returned them with a receipt, as well as joking about Williams having an NBA basketball court in his living room, being the first to embrace a true hardwood floor.

In another clip from Friday’s show, Hart called Williams’ interview a “horseshit” and made light of a moment in which host Shannon Sharpe implied that Williams had said he had gotten a college offer when he was just 7 years old. Hart laughed as he said, “You lost me at you got a college offer at age 7,” and went on to make jokes about how some things are difficult to accept, highlighting the importance of doing your research.

In response to Kendrick Perkins, Hart called the now-viral interview with Williams a “circus,” expressing enjoyment at the spectacle and drawing a comparison between it and watching a lion ride a bike. Williams sparked a scandal on the internet by accusing and insulting a number of comedians and celebrities, such as Rickey Smiley, Steve Harvey, Cedric the Entertainer, Hart, and Steve Harvey. He called Hart a “industry plant” who took short cuts to succeed in his comedic career, among other things.

Katt Williams claimed on a podcast that in 15 years in Hollywood, no one remembers a sold-out Kevin Hart show or him getting a standing ovation, suggesting Hart already had deals when he arrived. This adds to public disputes between Williams and Hart, including Hart criticizing Williams in 2018 for attacking Tiffany Haddish’s comedy and accusing Williams of drug-related work absences, which Williams vehemently denied on “Club Shay Shay.” Hart responded, calling Williams’ remarks “honestly sad” on X (formerly Twitter).
