Katt Williams has always been unabashed and brutally honest at every chance he gets. There are no mincing words or subtle hinting when it comes to the comedian and actor. So at the start of this year, needless to say, he made quite a lot of headlines when he claimed that Chris Tucker had been to the Epstein Island.
Not only did that, but the actor also made some upsetting claims about Tucker’s relationship with the late King of Pop Michael Jackson.
Katt Williams’ surprising claims about Chris Tucker
Katt Williams and Chris Tucker have not worked together but both have been part of the Friday franchise. So when in an interview with Club Shay Shay Williams was asked if it would be tough to make another one of those movies since ‘many great people’ have died from the original films, Williams had an unexpected response that caught quite a bit of controversy and backlash.
In the interview dated back to January this year, Williams stated that Tucker— who is still alive— is not really the same person as he was back when he starred in the original film. Without mincing any words, the comedian stated:
We lost some great people before this movie could come out regardless… And the Chris Tucker that we got now is ‘Epstein Island’ Chris Tucker, not Smokey…
Williams’ controversial comments were in line with previously released documents that claim the late s*x offender was in close proximity to several Hollywood A-listers and other influential and famous people (via The Guardian). While there has been no confirmation that Tucker ever visited Epstein Island, he did however travel in his private plane while on a humanitarian trip to Africa, as the actor himself revealed in an interview with All Urban Central.
Katt Williams’ comments about Chris Tucker’s friendship with Michael Jackson
Katt Williams not only talked about Chris Tucker allegedly being in contact with the late s*x offender Jeffrey Epstein but he also made some comments about the Rush Hour star’s friendship with Michael Jackson. It is no secret that the King of Pop used to be close friends with Tucker, but Williams bringing it up might not sit right with some fans.
In his Club Shay Shay earlier last year in January, the comedian stated,
He Michael Jackson’s best friend. Michael Jackson called him Christmas. You ever met a man that gave you a little nickname like that…
For many, Williams’ comments might even come across as rude for Michael Jackson and Tucker did share a good relationship and he did actually nickname him ‘Christmas’ as the Def Comedy Jam star revealed once on Late Night with Conan O’Brien. In another interview with GQ, Tucker once revealed how he turned around a plane to go meet MJ back in the day.
