A lawsuit filed in California accuses Kanye West, a renowned rapper and designer, of mistreating Black employees and expressing admiration for Adolf Hitler. Trevor Phillips, a former employee who worked for West for nearly a year, alleges discrimination, harassment, and retaliation. Phillips claimed that West frequently yelled at Black individuals but not at white ones.

Phillips joined Yeezy in November 2022 and worked at Donda Academy, a school founded by West. He witnessed West making offensive remarks about Jewish people, accusing them of harming him or stealing his money. Major clothing brands like GAP and Adidas ended partnerships with West due to previous antisemitic remarks.

The lawsuit also asserts that West praised Hitler, calling him “great” during a dinner in Los Angeles, despite historical evidence contradicting such claims. Phillips further alleges that West once ordered two children at Donda Academy to shave their heads and threatened to confine them in cages. He also allegedly told employees that overweight staff would be fired.

Phillips, who left West’s employment in August 2023, seeks $35,000 in compensation to address the injustices he faced and raise awareness against discrimination and antisemitism. Despite separating from Kim Kardashian in 2022, West apologized to Jewish people on social media for his past antisemitic remarks. He has openly discussed his mental health struggles, with Kardashian advocating for understanding as he navigates his challenges.
