Johnny Depp has returned to the spotlight as the face of Dior’s legendary fragrance, Sauvage. The famed Pirates of the Caribbean actor appeared in a stunning new commercial titled “The Call Of The Blazing Sun,” highlighting the essence of Dior’s celebrated smell.
In the stirring footage, Depp reflects poetically on eagles, the wide sky, worn wood, and the sharp caress of the wind. Dior expressed their adoration on Instagram, writing, “Bold and powerful, in his essence, his truth, embodies the soul of Sauvage.” The brand also described him as ‘fearless.’
The Hollywood icon exuded an attractive, bohemian charm as he was dressed in stylish ebony clothing and intricate silver accessories, his flowing locks bouncing with an air of freedom.
Depp initially took on the role of Sauvage ambassador in 2015. It was revealed earlier this year that he had signed the “most lucrative men’s fragrance deal to date” with Dior.
Despite his ten-year relationship with the company, there were concerns regarding his future due to his widely reported legal dispute with Amber Heard.
Any uncertainties were, however, quickly allayed by his successful outcome. Depp is expected to earn more than $20 million over the course of three years, according to Variety.
Dior remained unwavering in their support for Johnny Depp during his trial, according to a June 2022 Wall Street Journal report.
