Johnny Depp opens up about living life in the UK.
In an interview with Somerset Life, Johnny Depp, who lives on an 850-acre estate in Somerset, said he had no regrets about leaving Hollywood and that he enjoys the peaceful life in the UK.
The Pirates of the Caribbean actor, who spent £13 million buying an estate akin to Downton Abbey, enjoys the quiet and absence of attention from moviegoers and people spotting celebrities in his present life. Depp is relieved that he can now be himself after years of legal issues and being a Hollywood bad boy.
Despite his public persona as a movie and rock star, Johnny Depp disclosed that he really is a shy person who loves the outdoors over big city lights.
“I just love places with character,”
“British people are cool and will greet you as if you are a neighbour, without going over the top I like going to places, seeing things and meeting people but I’m not the great extrovert that people think.

“In truth, I’m quite a shy person. That’s one of the great things about Britain, and especially Somerset. I can just be me — and that’s nice.
“I can go into shops without being surrounded by people wanting selfies. I don’t mind that up to a point, but sometimes it gets a little too crowded.”
Johnny Depp showed up by helicopter to an unannounced visit to an antiques store in Lincolnshire the year before to go shopping. Hemswell Antique Centres’ proprietor, Robert Miler, said that Depp bought a range of quirky stuff, such as a desk chair, three guitars, paint kits, easels, and a few photos and posters.
