John Cena shocked WWE fans by making a surprise return at Money in the Bank 2024 in Toronto. He announced his retirement, which will take place at WrestleMania 41 in Las Vegas.
After Sami Zayn retained the Intercontinental Championship, Cena appeared and revealed that next year’s Royal Rumble and Elimination Chamber events would be his last before WrestleMania 41. Despite hints of retirement in recent interviews, the announcement caught many off guard.
“If you’re a WWE superstar, if you want some, hurry up and come get some,” he said.
“It’s not going to end at WrestleMania. WrestleMania would be my last WrestleMania,” he said. “But hopefully, if everything goes according to plan, we’re going straight through from January to December. We’re going to try to do a long list of dates.”
